2024 F-Series Pinot Noir
A dry winter and unsettled spring, with late frosts, led to lower vine vigour and reduced yields in some varieties. Riesling cropped well. Hot, dry summer conditions made irrigation essential, while cool, dry weather at harvest created ideal ripening conditions.
VINEYARD
Fruit was sourced mainly from Andalane Vineyard near the winery. Free-draining gravel soils with silt and clay help moderate vigour and enhance concentration. Clones: 828 (70%), 777 (20%), 114 & 115 (10%).
WINEMAKING
Hand harvested 12–19 March. Mostly destemmed with 3 days cold soak before wild fermentation. Clone 777 included 25% whole bunch for savoury lift. Matured 18 months in French oak (30% new), then blended and bottled unfiltered in June 2025.
TASTING NOTE
Blue fruits and dark cherry with subtle brûlé and savoury oak notes. Vibrant palate with freshness, fine tannins, and elegant texture. A refined Pinot Noir that will reward cellaring.
FOOD MATCH
Excellent with nutty or earthy cheeses, duck, venison, grilled or smoked salmon.
